Use the prompts prior to each activity to help to guide each lesson. There should be more than enough material to cover each 45 minute class. Students should be asked to sit In their assigned seats on the carpet. Seatingcharts are In the folders next to my computer. Please feel free to use them as needed. Students should not be allowed to touch materials/instruments around the classroom. They are also NOT allowed to request that any videos be shown. All videos need to be previewed and approved prior to watching.
Start with the following movement activity. Students who do not chose to participate must still stand in their assigned spot.
All about Crows Watch the following video about crows.
Let's get moving. DO the following "Would you Rather" If a student does not want to participate in the fun they still need to stand in their square. Students who are participating need to be reminded to stay is their square with their feet on the ground and their hands off the ground.
Watch the following biography about John Legend
John Legend was the voice of the main character in this Native American Tale. Have the children watch the following story

They should be prepared to share after the timer stops. The children should be told that if they chose not to talk to someone near them they can think about it on their own and should still be prepared to share afterwards.
Share about what you talked about.
Kindergarten/Grade 1
Today we will learn 2 new music vocabulary words. The first word is PRESTO which means FAST, and the second word is LARGO which means SLOW. Say the word PRESTO... Can you say it faster? Can you say it even faster? Make sure you don't get louder!
Take the next 10 seconds to say it as fast as you can but make sure you use your inside voice.
The second word is LARGO which means SLOW. Say the word LARGO... Can you say it slower? Can you say it even slower? Make sure your voice doesn't too loud again!
Take the next 30 seconds to say it as slow as you can but make sure you use your inside voice.
Now watch this video to see how PRESTO and LARGO work.
Watch the video again but this time when they sing about PRESTO run as fast as you can in your own carpet spot. You may not run around the room. When they sing about LARGO run in your own square as slowly as you can. Remember...you are boys and girls and not turtles and bunnies! When the bunny falls to the floor you should not. All boys and girls must stay on their feet!
This is a FABLE (a story that teaches a lesson) about a speedy rabbit (PRESTO) and a slow tortoise or turtle (LARGO). See what lesson we learn at the end of the story.
Lets take another movement break... Stand up on your carpet spot and make sure you don't move into anyone else's space.
Let's take a silly look at the same story...
Camille Saint-Saens wrote a piece of music about the the Tortoise in "The Carnival of the Animals", and here it is performed by the orchestra! Try and move slowly (LARGO) like a tortoise while you listen to this song. Please stay in your own carpet spot.
Now see if you can move like the rabbit. Make sure to stay in your own spot on the carpet.
Bookaboo needs a story and he needs one FAST! Let's listen to this story...
