This is a group called "STOMP".  They have been making music for many years WITHOUT using the instruments that we are familiar with.  Usually musicians will use flutes and trumpets, or guitars, or pianos, or drums to make their music.  This group uses different objects to create music.  In this video they are using sticks and their feet to create a song.

This video shows a man named Diego Stocco creating a really cool piece of music out of sounds he heard at a dry cleaners!

Both of those examples were clearly music.  But, what makes them music?  Music is organized sound.  You can use, well... ANYTHING to make music with as long as you organize how it's used.
We call it "Found Sound" when you find a sound (like a stick or hanger from the dry cleaners) that is not a "regular" instrument and you make music with it.  Check out how Andrew Huang uses an apple to create music.

Ambos ejemplos fueron claramente música. Pero, ¿qué los hace música?  La música es sonido organizado. Puedes usar, bueno ...

We will be doing a fun activity during our live classes this week that use found sounds.  Check around your house for different items that you could use as an instrument!

Did you find something in your house that you could use as an instrument?
